EL TORCAL PARK NATURE RESERVE

Andalucia is a birdwatchers paradise as it lies on the Europe-Africa migration routes.  Golden Oriels, Bee Eaters, Eagles, Kestrels, Buzzards and Scops Owl are amongst those spotted in summer 2008.

El Torcal Park Nature Reserve is known for its unusual limestone rock formations, 17sq km of the most beautiful and impressive landscape in Europe.  The whole area was under the sea one hundred million years ago.

Native foxes and Chamois deer are among some of the wildlife observed in summer. Just a short distance from El Torcal you can visit the WOLF PARK www.lobopark.com .  Here you can see many different varieties of wolves if you take a guided tour. The staff are knowledgeable and on good terms with their charges joining in the "howling parties" at the first opportunity! Children love it!
